It is safe to say now that summer has officially ended. This summer I tried to wear my maxi dresses to their fullest. After all, I hadn't seen such glorious weather for ages and was also quite sure that the weekend that just went would be the last bit of sun we would be getting for a while. As a result, I wore the maxi dress I was saving all summer on Saturday.
This beautiful black maxi dress/gown was a new addition to my wardrobe in July. When I bought it, I thought I'd wear it for a special occasion. However, after 2 months of not find a good enough occasion to wear it, I decided to make it casual and wear it to meet a friend for coffee.
The dress has a rushed detailing that makes it very Grecian looking. It is probably what makes it sort of dressy looking. It drapes beautifully and can look very flattering.
Here is my attempt to wearing a black gown/maxi casual. I added the ultimate casual piece I believe every girl must own; a denim jacket. It instantly makes anything casual. As the weather was windy, I was glad I had the jacket on me.
In a further attempt to make this outfit casual, I added this green satchel. I got it in the sale last month. I think it is very versatile as it looks good with a lot of outfits.
I accessorised the look with my infinity ring and the green agate ring I got from Istanbul. I kept the accessories simple as the green bag is quite a statement piece.
I saw this Real Greek placard next to the cafe we were in and it almost seemed apt to add this picture to this post.
It was fun to have a relatively dressed up coffee. Now that it's officially autumn, I'm sad that I wont get to wear this dress for a while, but then there is always hope for an Indian summer.
